Cassowaries retreat

See rare fan palm forest and lowland rainforest on easy walking tracks and boardwalks through Djiru National Park, at Mission Beach. You have a good chance of spotting a cassowary near the Fan Palm walk—remember to be Cass-o-wary. Mountain bikers can traverse the rainforest on the 6km one-way Musgravea track.

Location and getting there

8km W of Mission Beach. Access is via the Tully-Mission Beach Road and the El Arish-Mission Beach Road.
